			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>What is Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis?  I have to admit I had no idea about who she or her Metamorphosis program was until I saw that new Avengers movie.  What’s the connection?  The short appearance made by Gwenyth Paltrow.</p>
<p>Although she was in the movie for about five minutes, if that, I have to say I noticed those perfectly sculpted arms and legs.  Envy sets in and then determination.  Once I left that movie, I was determined to find out what workout program she was using.  <span id="more-482"></span></p>

<h3>Research</h3>
<p>Through my research, I <a href="http://goop.com/" target="_blank">found her GOOP newsletter</a>.   GOOP is a weekly lifestyle journal managed by Gwenyth that is delivered straight to your inbox.   It contains recipes, wellness tips, fashion advice, cultural notes, etc.</p>
<p>Within her GOOP newsletter, Paltrow talks about her personal trainer, Tracy Anderson.  I should have known she would have her own trainer!  Anyways, it turns out this Gwenyth Paltrow trainer has created a home workout program.</p>
<p>I was really excited to know that I could actually purchase the Tracy Anderson DVDs and do them right here in my living room.  However, before I made yet another purchase of a workout program, I needed to make absolutely sure I was going to actually like the Metamorphosis body shaping system.  I dug a little deeper and did a lot more research.</p>
<h3>The Basics</h3>
<p>While price is not the main factor, it is definitely a factor for me.  So before I did too much research, I checked out the <a href="http://tracyandersonmethod.com/metamorphosis/?ref=main-menu" target="_blank">Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis website</a> and found that the price was a little steep at $89.97; however, I could make payments of $29.99 plus S&amp;H.  That was more affordable, so I continued on with my research.</p>
<p>Next, I wanted to know what equipment was required and what came with the Anderson DVDs.  Here is what you get for the price:</p>
<ul>
<li>Fitness guide</li>
<li>Nutrition guide</li>
<li>Tape measure</li>
<li>9 customized workouts</li>
<li>Dance cardio workout</li>
<li>Online community access</li>
</ul>
<p>Here’s what you actually need to complete these workouts:</p>
<ul>
<li>Two 3 pound weights</li>
<li>Yoga mat</li>
</ul>
<p>These do not come with the program, so you will need to include this into your price if you do not already own them.  I do already have both, so this is not an issue for me.</p>
<p>After determining that I could afford the program and already own the necessary extra equipment, I wanted to know why I should purchase Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis as opposed to another program.  What makes Anderson Metamorphosis unique?</p>
<p>One thing that stood out was the fact that The Anderson Method is customized for my individual body type.  In fact, there are four basic body types this program targets making this body shaping system effective for almost anyone.</p>
<p>Another factor that I thought was beneficial was that Tracy offers a maintenance program called Metamorphosis Continuity.  Metamorphosis is a 90-day program.  Having something new every 10 days after you have completed the program can keep you interested, which is something that I personally need.  I get bored very quickly and that is when I simply stop working out.</p>
<p>The workout does come with a nutrition guide.  I found it to be one that I would never follow.   However, I am a picky eater and most of what she recommends is not my idea of a good meal.  Also, the calories are very low.  I feel they are dangerously low; however, I am not a doctor.  I would highly recommend talking to your doctor before you follow the Anderson diet.</p>
<h3>The Anderson Diet</h3>
<p>Just because I am a picky eater does not mean you are, so I am going to give you an idea of what Metamorphosis eclectic eating consists of for this program.  Keep in mind that Gwenyth did follow the diet plan for a while, but stopped because she liked to eat.  She mentioned that she would rather exercise longer so she could satisfy her cravings once in a while.</p>
<p>Here are some of the foods you might find in the Anderson diet plan.  These include:  green tea, kale juice, almond butter, chopped dates, avocado, tomato slices, cucumber slices, oven roasted turkey, lemony grilled chicken, eggs, turkey bacon, protein bar, fruit, etc.</p>
<p>All foods must either be raw, grilled, poached, or steamed.  You are not allowed to eat any bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, red meat, dairy, or fats.  There are vegan and non-vegetarian options available.  Through my research, I found people complaining of not being able to sleep because they were so hungry and there were complaints of dizziness and/or lightheadedness.</p>
<h3>The Tracy Anderson Method</h3>
<p>My interest definitely peaked in the Anderson DVDs since I learned about the customized workouts; however, now I needed to determine what my body type actually was.  The names assigned to these body types can be confusing.  In fact, some of these words I had never heard of before.  Make that all of them.  I hope my descriptions help you determine which one you need to check mark.</p>
<p>If you are one that gains weight all over, then you would check the omnicentric box.  If you have a small waist, but big hips and thighs, then you would check the hipcentric box.  For those who mainly gain weight in the midsection or have a thick waist, check the abcentric box.  For those who have that sagging and shapeless butt, check the glutecentric box.   I would personally have to check the omnicentric box.</p>
<p>I still was not sure if I wanted to order the Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis shaping system.  I did a little more digging and was so excited to find a variety of Metamorphosis webisodes and clips on YouTube.  I could actually try portions of the Anderson DVDs.</p>
<p>Wow!  These YouTube webisodes will really give you an idea on whether this is something you can follow or not.  The routines are simple, yet challenging and exhausting.  The Anderson Method involves strategic muscle exhaustion on one full side first and then moves on to the other side.</p>
<h3>My Final Decision</h3>
<p>I think I have finally seen enough to make a decision.  I hope my research has helped you; however, I highly recommend you check out the YouTube webisodes first.  My final decision is that I will not be following the Anderson diet, but I will be ordering the Omnicentric Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis program.  I will let you know how it goes.  Good luck to you on your body shaping journey!</p>

<p>A huge part of the success of this program is following the nutrition plan.  While you can strengthen your abs, they will not be seen under a layer of fat.  It is absolutely essential that you follow a healthy nutrition plan to eliminate fat so you can see the results of your hard work.</p>
<p>You will start the nutrition plan with the 14-day Jump Start.  This is where you will begin the process of eliminating certain sugars, fruits, and starches.  You will also reduce your caloric intake dramatically, which is designed to force your body to use your fat for fuel.   Do not continue this low caloric diet past the 14-day program.</p>

<p>While the program is intense, it is simple to follow.  It combines cardiovascular exercises with strength training.  While the focus is on the abs, the entire body can be transformed with the types of routines the workouts provide.  All you need are some resistance bands or weights; however, they do not come with the program.  Expect to be on the floor a lot, which can be an issue for some people.</p>
<p>The nutrition guide does provide some tasty recipes making it easier to follow.  Having a list to follow also makes the decision process much simpler.  Counting calories can be annoying; however, this is necessary if you truly want to lose that weight.</p>

<p>Lean Phasing is a proven technique that shifts the focus of fat-burning from cardio to resistance training.  The idea is to implement resistance training in three different phases.  By following this three phase process, you will build lean muscle and increase your metabolism resulting in burning fat throughout the day and/or night instead of just while you are exercising.</p>
<h3>ChaLEAN Extreme – The Program</h3>

<p>The Fat Burning Food Guide provides information on healthy eating.  It is based on caloric intake recommendations of 1,200 to 1,500 for women and 1,400 to 1,700 for men.  The food plan is also broken into three phases.  These compliment the workout phases and are labeled Burn Phase, Push Phase, and Lean Phase.</p>
<p>The first phase basically focuses on reducing the amount of calories you intake based on your current weight and gender.   The following two phases will focus on increasing your portion sizes.   The guide provides a list of meals and snacks you can eat in each phase.</p>
<p>Once you have completed these three phases, there is a maintenance phase.  This involves adding in 100 calories per day for one week.  After the week is up, you will then add in 100 more calories per day until you maintain your goal weight.</p>
<h3>ChaLEAN Extreme – Pros/Cons</h3>
<p>The program is definitely intense; however, the workouts are less time consuming making it easier for people to include them in their daily schedule.    The phases make it easier to know exactly what needs to be done in order to achieve maximum results.</p>
<p>The food guide seems to be easy to follow; however, it may be frustrating trying to track the calories you consume daily.  It does not promote any appetite suppressors or fat-burning supplements, which could make reducing those calories a much easier process.</p>
